Here's How I Can Help You

tutoring services

In each of my tutoring services, I work with students in all kinds of academic situations. Kids that are struggling to catch up & kids that are striving to get ahead. Public school, Private school, Virtual school, and Homeschool...all are welcome.

Tutoring Services for Public & Private School Students

Typically, my belief is that tutoring is not a replacement for classroom instruction. I have always worked as a complement to the classroom teacher. However, in the current situation in education due to the pandemic, having a private tutor or full time homeschool teacher may be the difference in your student successfully completing a course and moving on to the next level.

I spent a decade in the classroom - read my background & credentials here - and regular attendance is absolutely necessary for students to be successful at this level of mathematics.  Direct interaction and feedback from the teacher is so important but may not be possible with the asychronous learning solutions that many districts have adopted.

While I do still offer in-person sessions, most of my students have transitioned to my ZachsMath Educational Portal on Thinkific. This is live instruction using tools that allow students to do the work interactively with a graphics tablet on a whiteboard while I guide and instruct. Students do not just "sit and watch" while I teach. This is a very interactive process that requires the student to stay engaged.

These sessions focus on the student's instructional needs based on teacher provided materials and are recorded with video playbacks available for the entire school year.  For struggling students that have gotten frustrated and discouraged, I start exactly where they are and build them back up to a place of confidence and proficiency.  For students striving to get ahead, I start with listening to their goals and making a plan to help them achieve them.

I have the one thing that most teachers don't...and that is time.  By having a regular tutoring schedule with your child, I am able to identify strengths and weaknesses, fill the gaps when needed, and help keep him from getting overwhelmed when things get tough. Most students who know they have a reliable lifeline outside of school stay engaged and don't give up.  I will also collaborate with any teacher that is willing to help me help your child.

HomeSchool - Full Teacher Services

For homeschool students, I offer three levels of instruction. Option 1 is basically a tutoring services plan with two sessions per week. I act in a support role for the parent teacher to reinforce concepts and remediate misunderstandings. I work with materials provided by the parent.

In Options 2 & 3, I take on all of the teaching responsibilities and all you have to do is make sure they  show up for class...kind of like dropping them off at school! I provide the curriculum, assignments, assessments, projects, and do all of the grading. Each unit is mapped to standards and follows a posted syllabus. I set the course up in the portal and you have 24/7 access to everything we are doing including the video replays of the sessions. Option 2 includes 3 sessions per week and Option 3 includes 4 sessions per week.

I provide an ongoing Report Card that displays all grades as well as PDFs of graded assignments.

In an nutshell, Options 2 & 3 cover everything that I would be providing in a regular classroom, only customized to your student's needs. Click the button below for course information and links to pricing information.

Our tutoring sessions are each one hour filled with observations, questions, explanations, laughs, mistakes, corrections, and lots and lots of math problems. Whether we are working in person or online in a Zoom session, your child has dedicated time to get all of their questions answered in a non-stress and relaxed environment. I offer plans that include either one or two sessions per week. For advanced classes College Algebra and above, I highly recommend two sessions per week due to the large amount of material covered each class period.  Trust our tutoring services to help your child get the results they need in math class.   >>> Information Request
