Students in the 7th - 10th grades will take this group of math courses. Pre-Algebra and Algebra are the foundation for all the math courses that will follow. It is important to learn this material and have a deep understanding of the concepts before advancing to the next level of course work.
This set of courses is generally taken by students in the 10th and 11th grades. Every student is required to take a minimum of three math courses to graduate; however, to graduate with a STEM endorsement, students must complete for advanced math classes. For advanced students, College Algebra and Trigonometry are combined to make up the college level Pre-Calculus course in the next section.
This last section of courses are the most advanced in the high school curriculum. A lot of schools will offer a DC (dual credit) version and an AP (Advanced Placement) version. Each of these courses take a considerable commitment of time and effort. Any weakness in Algebra will become very apparent here. One of the greatest benefits of students taking these classes is that they can earn college credit as well as high school credit if they do well.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are parents with ambitious kiddos in advanced placement classes that are overwhelmed with the massive amount of content and need someone to help guide them through the course.
Typically, during the junior and senior years, students load up on advanced AP & DC classes.
When they add in extracurrucular activities, it is easy to find themselves stretched too thin which leads to frustration and lower grades.
My math tutoring sessions are each one hour filled with observations, questions, explanations, laughs, mistakes, corrections, and lots and lots of math problems, I teach to the Texas state standards for all of my students that attend our local public schools.
Whether we are working in person or online in my ZachsMath Student Portal, your child has dedicated time to get all of their questions answered in a non-stress and relaxed environment. I offer plans that include either one or two sessions per week.
For advanced classes College Algebra and above, I only offer two session per week plans due to the large amount of material covered each class period. You can trust my tutoring services to help your child get the results they need to be successful in math class.
