Homeschool Math Tutoring

Live, Interactive Instruction w/Video Replay

I help middle & high school students become college ready with rigorous instruction and real-world project work.

I know how hard you've worked to provide the best educational experiences for your kiddos. If you are like many of my homeschool students' parents, you have been teaching your children math from the time they first learned to count on their fingers. However, as they have progressed into the high school curriculum, you might not be feeling as comfortable with the material at this level. No worries, though, because I can help you!

Not Just a Tutor, But a Certified Math Teacher

Understandably, there are few people that aren't math teachers that are comfortable teaching mathematics after the middle school years. Math Teachers are trained to work with different learning styles and implement strategies for the many ways that kids learn. So while there are many capable people that are good at math that tutor, it's just not the same as having a trained professional educator that specializes in math teaching.

I typically teach to the Texas state standards because that is what I used in my classroom, but I also teach to other state standards, national standards, and common core

I take into consideration each student's strengths and weaknesses in order to customize the curriculum. I strive to match it to the EOC assessment instrument that you use to show mastery of the course material at year's end.  I will collaborate with you to create the best fit for your goals. I benchmark in March and EOC test in late May.

I also incorporate project based learning activities that are based on the student's individual interests. I know you provide enriching learning activities outside of the classroom and I can help you do that using mathematics. Applying what students learn in fun and interesting ways opens the possibility for discovery and deeper understanding.

Homeschool Mom - LIttle Rock, AR

Lisa Phillips Zach is our Homeschool Math Teacher and has been teaching Ian (8th grade) this year, and I'm absolutely blown away. I have watched him grow from tentative student to confident math whiz.

She has not only taken the time to get to know him personally, but has integrated his interests into an advanced project that takes his math and computer skills to the next level. I'm so thankful for the foundations she's supporting which benefit him in all of his subject areas. The system in place for his lessons and homework have him taking accountability for his work, and developing responsibility.

It is so amazing to watch her adjust her teaching style to him, session to session, so that he can master and progress through the material and really challenge himself to grow in his understanding of advanced algebra. And, when he gets stuck - she is almost always immediately responsive with an answer that targets exactly what he needs to know to get him back on track.

I wish I had a teacher as incredible as Lisa when I was in school, but I'm so thankful that she is sharing her passion, enthusiasm and excitement for the subject with my child. I can't recommend her enough.
