The most common reason parents of struggling students contact me is to help improve grades. I get it, grades are important but are not the sole focus of my instruction. I want students to understand the math they are being taught and feel comfortable in their knowledge. The result of that is improved computational fluency and yes, better grades.
I also hear from many parents that want their child to receive additional personalized instruction so that they can score well on their AP & ACT exams. Advanced courses and high stakes exams require a specialized & structured instructional approach and a great deal of time & effort. Students that are highly motivated and focused on college admission, do exceptionally well when we work together to create the exact study plan that fits into their hectic schedules.
There are several things to take into consideration when determining if working with an Instructional Coach can help your child achieve a higher level of success.
The above is by no means an exhaustive list. It does, however, give an overview of the a student's current educational circumstances and provides insight into creating a solution.
In order to help more students be successful in the classroom, I will be adding self-paced mini-courses, video trainings, a private FB group, and subject specific resources for the 2020-2021 school year. You can receive more information by signing up for my newsletter and by visiting our social media pages.
If you feel that your child could benefit from working with me, I invite you to contact me by any of the methods listed on my website. Registration for the new school year will open soon and I look forward to having a conversation with you to see how I can best help your child achieve their goals.
